Editorial Standards

Bajo Port is an independent editorial guide. These standards explain how we research and publish.

Accuracy #

We ground articles in verifiable facts and cite authoritative sources such as Wikipedia, UNESCO, official tourism boards and government pages. Figures, distances and timings are checked against primary sources at the time of writing.

Independence

Our editorial opinions are our own. Where a page discusses operators or services, we aim to give balanced, useful guidance rather than undisclosed promotion.

Photography

Every photograph published on this site is licensed stock from Unsplash or Wikimedia Commons, and every one of them carries the photographer’s name — and, where the licence requires it, the licence itself — directly beneath the frame. We do not publish AI-generated images as photographs of real places. Where a photograph shows a neighbouring island rather than the harbour a page is about, its alt text names the place actually in the frame.

Corrections

If you spot an error, email sales@komodoluxury.com and we will review and correct verified mistakes promptly, noting the update date.

Updates

Travel and regulatory details change. We revise pages as conditions change and show a “last updated” date where relevant.

What this desk does and does not claim #

Bajo Port is a desk-produced editorial guide to the Labuan Bajo port area and the logistics of reaching Komodo National Park. It is not a first-hand review site: nobody here claims to have personally sailed every boat, slept in every hotel or dived every site described on these pages. What the desk does is read the primary record — government tariff regulations, park authority and Ministry of Transportation announcements, ASDP and PELNI published schedules, and operators’ own listed terms — and set out what it actually says, with the date attached.

That distinction matters for the reader. A claim on this site is only as strong as the source named beside it, and where a source is missing, contested or offline the page says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate. Prices quoted by operators are reported as quotes, not endorsed as fair; conditions described from published guidance are reported as guidance, not as a promise about the day you travel. When a widely repeated figure turns out never to have been formally adopted — the Rp 700,000 park fee is the clearest example — the page names it as a misconception and points to the regulation that governs instead.
